Our Beautiful Beach – Nature Walk and Beach Clean Up

- Description: Participants will learn about the natural environment as they clean and look to our future on the land. Various agencies will be attending and natural plant life and birds will be identified. the History and uses of the space will be explored while we revive such a need space to all. Looking forward to the beauty of day and hope all can attend this native shore space.

Guardians of the Glen Clean Up

- Parking: Woodland Avenue at Freeman Parkway Intersection, Glen Ridge, NJ
- Directions: GS Parkway to exit 148 Bloomfield, 1 mile west on Bloomfield ave., left on Freeman Parkway
- Description: Pick up litter in and around the banks of the Glen Ridge glen (2nd River). Garbage bags and municipal trucks to pick up the trash collected will be provided.

Mott Street Bridge Clean Up
- 9 am – 12 pm

- Meet-up Location: Maple Pl between Beers & Luppatatong St, Keyport, NJ
- Directions: From Rt36 Broad Street Keyport left on Maple 1/4 mile west between Beers Street and Lupatatong Ave
- Parking: Maple Place on street at the culvert crossing Lupatatong Creek
- Affiliation: Keyport Environmental Commission
- Description: Prior to the construction of a culvert on Maple Place between Beers St and Lupatatong Ave there had been a bridge called the Mott Street Bridge which spans the Lupatatong Creek east to west. The creek empties into the Raritan Bay by Keport Fishery and the Ye Cottage Inn which since Sandy was demolished. The culvert accumulates debris from tidal surge, upstream storm water runoff and wind bourne road surface litter. Our objective is to cleanup along the roadside and down to the creek edge thus preventing the debris from entering the creek and bay.

Asbury Park Boardwalk Reopening
- 10:30 – 2 PM

- Description: Ribbon cutting at 1 PM, Asbury Angels ceremony

- Join COA in the evening for the Back to the Beach Ball at the Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel
Go Fly a (Newspaper) Kite!
- 10:30 – 12:30 PM
- 25 kids (plus adults)
- Meet-up Location: Pavilion, Seven Presidents’s Waterfront Park, Long Branch, NJ
- Directions: Garden State Parkway to exit 105. Take Rt. 36 east to Ocean Avenue, Park entrance ahead.
- Description:Join us to fly kites made from newspaper! We will provide the materials and brief instruction for making and flying simple kites made from our family’s newspaper pile! If you have a special ribbon you would like to use for the kite’s tail, feel free to bring it, otherwise we will have samples to use. Fun for the entire family. Weather note: we will not hold this workshop in rain or extreme wind.

In this fun class you will learn how to transform old itunes cards into your very own piece of funky jewelry with co-op artist mother/daughter team, Michal Sparks and Ivy Bowne. You can choose to create a bracelet or a necklace. This is a make & take so you leave with your very own piece of jewelry. All supplies are included.
